Conseil d’orientation scientifique of the Observatoire des sciences et des techniques (OST)

March 2016. Yves Gingras was nominated as member of the Conseil d’orientation scientifique of the Observatoire des sciences et des techniques (OST) of the Haut Conseil de l’évaluation de la recherche et de l’enseignement supérieur de France (HCERES). 



Board of directors (UQAM)

November 2013. Yves Gingras was nominated by the Gouvernement du Québec as one of the professor's representative of UQAM's board of directors for a three years mandate. 



Advisory committee of the Institute for Science Society and Policy of the University of Ottawa

January 2012. Yves Gingras was named to the advisory committee of the Institute for Science Society and Policy of the Univeristy of Ottawa.



External coordinator of the evaluation of research at the Université Libre de Bruxelles

August 2011.  Yves Gingras was appointed as external coordinator for the evaluation of research at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). He will oversee the work of a dozen international researchers visiting the various ULB research centers in 2012.


Expert Panel on Science Performance and Research Funding, Council of Canadian Academies

December 2010.  Yves Gingras will serve on the Committee of Experts on performance and scientific research funding (2011-2012). Created by the Council of Canadian Academies, this committee is composed of 16 experts from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds. It will examine international practices and the science used to evaluate the performance of the natural sciences and engineering outside of Canada.  À lire »


Evaluation Committee of the European Research Council

Septembre 2010. Yves Gingras will serve on the Evaluation Committee of the SH2 European Research Council (2010-2012).



Conseil consultatif du Réseau canadien de documentation pour la recherche

September 2008. Yves Gingras was appointed to the Advisory Board of the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN). The Network is a partnership of Canadian universities dedicated to expanding digital content for the academic research in Canada. With an annual budget of over $50 million, CRKN is undertaking a major content expansion in the social sciences and humanities, in order to strengthen research capacity in these domains, and enhance multi- and inter- disciplinary research in Canada.


Scientific Council of the Social Sciences and Humanities Department, CNRS

April 2008. Yves Gingras, OST's scientific director,  was appointed to the science council of the Social Sciences and Humanities Department at the French Conseil national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) by its director general, Arnold Migus. These councils play a crucial role in the development and implementation of national science policies in each of their respective domains.
